Recently Cleared Genoa-Mallacoota Road Landslide

We've captured the aftermath of a minor but impactful landslide on the Genoa-Mallacoota Road that occurred on 30th November 2023. This incident, though small in scale, caused a significant disruption, blocking the road for a full day and affecting locals, holidaymakers, and workers alike.

Our drone footage provides a unique perspective of the road post-clearance, offering a visual narrative of the event and its resolution. The landslide, caused by a fallen tree, was a stark reminder of the unpredictability of nature and the challenges it can pose to our daily lives. Thankfully, by the 1st of December, the road was cleared, reinstating vital connectivity for the community.

The video also captures the breathtaking Genoa River floodplains, showcasing the resilience of the natural landscape even in the face of adversity. The water levels, although reduced by about a metre, still present a stunning vista, with cattle grazing peacefully in the paddocks. These serene images stand in contrast to the earlier inconvenience caused by the landslide, highlighting the ever-changing dynamics of our natural surroundings.
