Mallacoota November Morning – A Calm Spring Day by the Sea

A Perfect Morning

This morning at Mallacoota felt like the coast was holding its breath. The bay was calm, the water glassy, and the air already warm before nine. From the beach you could see Gabo Island sharp on the horizon, framed by a silver sky and a gentle swell.

Surfers were out early. A handful of them rode soft rolling waves that curved along the sandbar near the mouth. The light was so clear you could see the shimmer of their boards even from the carpark.

The tide was steady, the bar firm, and the inlet brimmed with that deep green that shows every grain of sand below. A perfect late-spring morning in paradise.

The Song – Mallacoota November Morning

I wrote and recorded this song over the weekend, inspired by mornings like this one. It’s an indie folk duet — warm guitars, natural harmonies, and the feeling of standing barefoot in the sand with the sun on your face.

The lyrics follow the rhythm of the coast: quiet, real, and steady. They trace the line from Gabo Island to the lake mouth — a story about simplicity, stillness, and belonging.

These frames were shot on the DJI Mavic 4 Pro in perfect conditions — no haze, no glare, just a soft northerly breeze and total calm.

About the Place

Mallacoota sits at the far eastern edge of Victoria, where the wilderness meets the sea.
On mornings like this you remember what makes it rare — the way lake and ocean connect, the still water behind the dunes, and the sense that everything belongs exactly where it is.

The view from the inlet toward Gabo feels timeless. You could imagine the same light seen by the early fishermen, the old sailors, or anyone who stopped here to breathe.

Closing

This day will sit in memory as one of those simple, perfect mornings.
The kind that reminds you why you live by the water.
Calm, clear, and bright — Mallacoota November Morning.
