The first day of autumn arrived with stunning weather here in Mallacoota. The skies were clear, the air was crisp in the morning, and the high tide painted the landscape with shimmering reflections. Today’s Artisan Markets were much quieter than usual, giving me a chance to truly enjoy the slower pace and connect with those who stopped by. It was lovely catching up with my followers, sharing stories, and selling a few of my drone prints, framed images, and calendars to those who appreciate the unique beauty of this place.

As the morning unfolded, I took my drone for a flight over the lake. The water was exceptionally clear today, with the usual dark tannins having been washed out to sea, leaving behind a pristine, glassy surface. The 360-degree views and sweeping panoramas captured Mallacoota in its finest autumn light—calm, golden, and breathtaking. It’s always a joy to see the landscape from above, where the estuaries weave like intricate patterns and the deep blues of the ocean meet the winding inlets.
By midday, the sun was climbing, and the warmth settled in, signaling pack-up time. As I wrapped up, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for these peaceful market mornings, the friendly chats, and the opportunity to share my passion for capturing Mallacoota’s essence.
To close, here’s a video from today’s flight, set to an upbeat, soulful blues soundtrack with epic undertones—a perfect match for the rhythm of the tides and the heart of this beautiful place. Enjoy! 🎶
