Gipsy Point is located at the end of the Genoa River, where it flows into the Wallagaraugh River just before it reaches the upper Mallacoota Lake.

Gipsy Point's location at the confluence of these two rivers makes it an ideal spot for fishing and boating. The area is known for its abundant fish populations, including bream, flathead, and blackfish. Anglers can launch their boats from the Gipsy Point Boat Ramp and explore the rivers and lakes in the area.

In addition to fishing and boating, visitors to Gipsy Point can also take advantage of the many hiking trails in the nearby Croajingolong National Park. The park is home to a diverse range of ecosystems, including coastal forests, heathlands, and granite peaks. Hikers can explore the park's many trails, which offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape and opportunities to spot local wildlife.

Accommodation options at Gipsy Point include a range of cabins and cottages, many of which offer views of the Genoa River and the surrounding forests. There are also campsites available for those who prefer to pitch a tent and sleep under the stars.

Whether you're looking for a relaxing fishing trip, an active hiking adventure, or simply a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, Gipsy Point has something to offer. Its secluded location, pristine natural surroundings, and abundance of activities make it a hidden gem in the East Gippsland region of Victoria, Australia.

At Gipsy Point, the bush abounds,
Where nature's beauty knows no bounds,
The winding Genoa River flows,
And the sun reflects on its gentle throes.

The bushland stretches far and wide,
And the river's gentle sway does guide,
The wildlife roams free and wild,
And the peaceful calm is ever so mild.

The river's gleam is oh so bright,
As the sun's rays reflect just right,
And in the distance, Mallacoota Lake,
A tranquil sight that makes us awake.

The bush at Gipsy Point is a wonder,
Where nature's beauty reigns asunder,
A peaceful retreat, a tranquil space,
Where the soul can find a peaceful place.
