The new walking bridge had been completed and will have its official opening soon.

 26 February 2021  work started on a new pedestrian bridge across the Genoa River.
The timber truss bridge was destroyed by the 2019-20 bushfires
Funded by Council, the new $1.5 million bridge will be 111 metres long, made from steel reinforced concrete,  The Design is an overhead steel truss structure that is painted white to mimic the former heritage bridge.
In the background you will see the $370,000 project replacing the old tennis courts with new synthetic tennis courts..

The Genoa Bridge was engulfed by flames as fires ripped through the East Gippsland town, which is close to the NSW border where the Princes Highway crosses the Genoa River

  1. Well done, the rebuild of the Genoa walk bridge looks wonderful. My late step father, Ray Johnston of Genoa would be proud and so very happy, knowing future generations will continue to enjoy the beauty of the Genoa river and surrounds.
