A Panoramic Flight Along Mallacoota's Coastline

On this warm and calm day, the 22nd of June 2024, we embark on a mesmerizing drone flight southward from Betka Beach to Quarry Beach and back. This stunning 180-degree panorama captures the raw beauty of Mallacoota’s coastline, revealing secluded beaches and rugged landscapes.

Starting at Betka Beach, the drone lifts off over the dark tannin-stained waters of Betka River merging into the crystal-clear ocean at low tide. As we journey south, rocky outcrops and hidden coves emerge, each more captivating than the last.

Reaching Quarry Beach, we spot the Mallacoota Airport nestled behind it, a reminder of the blend between untouched nature and human ingenuity. The expansive view extends further south, highlighting the grandeur of this coastal stretch.

Turning the drone back northward, we glimpse the majestic Howe Ranges in New South Wales on the distant horizon. The panorama is enriched with a fleeting view of Gabo Island far to the north, adding a sense of endless exploration to our aerial journey.

This round trip from Betka to Quarry Beach and back is a testament to the diverse and unspoiled beauty of Mallacoota’s shores. It’s a visual celebration of nature's artistry, where each element of the landscape tells a unique story.

Coastal Reverie

South from Betka’s river flow,
Tannin waters softly go,
Ocean clear and pure delight,
Joining in the morning light.

Rocks and beaches, hidden bays,
Nature's quiet, secret ways,
Quarry Beach and airport near,
Mallacoota’s charm is clear.

Turn the drone and north we soar,
Howe Ranges on distant shore,
Gabo Island far and free,
Glimpsed above the azure sea.

Panoramic, wild, and grand,
Echoes of the sea and land,
From Betka to Quarry’s end,
Then back again, horizons blend.
